Papua New Guinea actualize “Food hygiene regulations”

Papua New Guinea August 21 the Ministry of Health issued a circular said, “food hygiene regulations” will be officially implemented. Importers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of imported food, the label must meet the following requirements:

 

 1, English labeling; 2, there is the name or description of food; 3, nutrition notes; 4, composition description; 5, food additives; 6, the manufacturer or manufacturer’s full address; 7, country of origin; 8, production date, or at the latest dates; 9, net weight; 10, batch number; 11, storage requirements; 12, the percentage of labeling; 13, compliance with the law; 14, for allergic patients to provide detailed information;

 

 Labels must describe the facts and not misleading.

 

 The importer or manufacturer must comply with all requirements, the food will not be allowed to enter Pakistan or new sales. If you find a similar product on the shelves, it will be confiscated or destroyed. For the non-compliance of food, in particular, have arrived in port or airport, the importer can: 1, shipped back to country of origin or re-labeling as required; 2, food will be confiscated or destroyed.
